If you are going to make a DDR copycat, at least make it halfway decent!!!!!

Now don't get me wrong, some Dance Dance Revoultion knock-offs are good [ITG, anyone]. This game simply isn't.

OH MY GOD. What is this game?!

It's a dance game! But aren't dance games supposed to be kind of fun? In the average one, the music gets a beat going with you. You step in sync with the song and onlookers watch the colorful background visuals. You can't get this experience AT ALL with this game.

The songs? Huh, they're just decent. None of them are something I especially want to hear. They're boring. Oh, and you know how an average DDR song is 1 to 2 minutes long? These songs can range from 2 to 10 minutes. 10 minutes! Thankfully, the steps don't work you out much.

The steps.... baby steps. Seriously easy. I guess that could work for a beginner but no. Let me relate to you an experience I had at an EB Games:

There was this father with his two children in the Gamecube section of the store. They were going "daddy look!" and all that jazz. They looked to be 5 to 7 years old. The little girl... she saw the MC Groovz Dance Craze box [because well, it was on the floor]. She looked up at her father and said "Dad! It's that dance game!" The brother suddenly chimed in with "Yeah it's that game! We have to get it." I looked on with a mixture of pain and dread welling up inside me. I simply could not let those children be exposed to such a heinous game. In a sudden burst of good samatarianism, I said to the father "Oh, I don't think you should get that game. It's really not worth the money." I then gave advice on other Gamecube titles which his children might have been interested in.

Okay. If this game was DECENT I would have never done that. But it is just that bad. Also, I can't help but be fearful about the people who play it. What if they, well WHEN they figure out that they hate it, they may decide to stay the hell away from DDR [or other good dancing games]. They'll say something like "Oh I played one of those games, it was stupid." Mad Catz may have been trying to do something profitable, but they could just end up killing off their possible consumers.

Oh oh. Something else for those trained in DDR. Your skills may be honed masterfully, but even so, this game will annoy you. Why? Well the switched the positioning of 2 arrows. Annoying!

Oh and the grahpics. Good LORD are they terrifying. It's completely unattractive and bland. Ugly. It looks like they barely spent any money to create this game! Also, there are no real backrounds to speak of. There's just a blue backround and some dark blue outline of some chick doing the same dance moves over and over and over again. Yeah and the arrows [more like triangles] are nearly the same color as the backround. If you don't keep your eyes sharp, you're sure to miss some steps. You can't zone out even slightly [which I do sometimes in DDR...].

So, never ever take a second look at this game. Even if it was being sold for $5, STAY AWAY. This is one of the worst games I've ever played[ E.T. for Atari 2600 (or so) gets that award]!!!

MC Groovz Dance Craze leaves a horrible taste in your mouth. I'll say it once more for effect. STAY AWAY FROM MC GROOVZ DANCE CRAZE. There is nothing groovy about it.......AT ALL.
