Mech Combat like never before.
The most obvious addition is the introduction of BattleArmor, which is like a Mech, just smaller. Standing a mere 12 feet tall, the BattleArmor may be small, but it packs a punch, armed with both a laser cannon and a mortar launcher, and also equipped with jumpjets. What’s so special about this? Well, on the left arm of the BattleArmor, there’s a multi-purpose claw which can be used to climb buildings or walls, hang onto friendly VTOLs or Mechs, and most notably, to hi-jack enemy Mechs. The new feature, called NeuroHacking, can be used by using your jumpjets to fly up behind an enemy Mech, and using the A button to cling on. You must then enter a button sequence displayed on screen before the victim pilot does. If you beat the Mech pilot, the Mech pilot gets ejected from his Mech. Ipso facto, free Mech for you! If you fail to complete the code before the Mech pilot, you will get flung off and take damage. Beware the BattleArmor!
Some other vehicles include a tank with a built-in cloaking device, called a Null Sig. Using this, you become virtually invisible to the naked eye, but if you are moving fast, you will still appear on radar. Taking damage, firing your weapons or heat buildup will cause the Null Sig to wear out. Use Null Sig for stealth, move slowly, and stay out of the crossfire.
The VTOL, or the Vertical Take Off and Landing ship, takes off and lands like a helicopter, and flies like a plane. The VTOL is able to carry tanks, BattleArmor, and supplies to the battlefield, but it can be swatted out of the sky rather easily.
Like the original MechAssault, MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf supports online play, including clans, and a new feature called Conquest, where you must take over the planets of the galaxy. These results are updated everyday.
