MechAssault 2: Lone wolf is a great game that dilivers the goods.
MechAssault 2: Lone wolf's gameplay is top notch but a little too simple. Players will get to jump around and steal mechs using the battle armour and engage in neat mech fights. The ability to jack mechs is a very interesting concept and it works really well. At the same time it helps give players that sense of scale. Players will also get to drive tanks, vtol's and even use turrets. All of these features are a nice addition to the series as the possibilities for these new things help give players new options and ways to play but a majority of the gameplay takes places in mechs. Unfortunately the core of MechAssault 2: Lone wolf is getting from point A to point B while clearing out the enemies' along the way.
MechAssault 2: Lone wolf's Ai is good as it will give the players a real fight. The Ai is solid and smart as it will use the enemies' weapons very well against players and force them to really fight. However players shouldn't expect to get overwhelmed with battles like 4 mechs against 1 mech. At most it's 2 mechs with tanks for support against 1 mech for the battles but these battles are spread out nicely. So while they're maybe 10 mechs in a given area players will fight them one or two at a time. However players can expect to fight tanks in larger numbers at times.
Overall MechAssault 2: Lone wolf is an ambitious game that almost hits the mark but not quite. However despite its flaws it's still an easily recommendable title.
