The only "real" mech sim
It's obviously difficult to judge whether a mech sim it's realistic or not as i believe not many players had the chance to command one of this steel monsters in real life :) . However, everything here seems to work perfectly: the mechs walk, turn themselves and jump in a way that could be the closest experience to how a real mech would do it.
I mean, you really feel that your "vehicle" weight different tons just while turning the torso left-right or up-down and this thing consequently affects the way you have to plan the movement during battles.
I played MechWarrior 3 and 4, there are good games but nothing as deep as the 2nd chapter, more arcade-oriented if you know what i mean. Heavy Gear II it's another great title although slightly different.
But you have to try it by yourself to fully understand what i mean, as it's quite difficult to describe the accurate physics of this title...and i'm not a native English-speaker so it's not easy to find the right words: go buy it!
I just want to tell the (gamers) world that this title is huge, one of the greatest ever, and if you add a great CD sound-track, many different mechs (that obviously behave in a different way and are differently equipped), different mission styles and a nice plot for the single-player campaign i think you should seriously consider buying this game. If you are willing to accept its 15-year old graphics, of course...
