A disapointment game that game that does not deserve any type of medal, let a lone a Medal of Honor...

Well we all remember Medal of Honour Frontline back in 2002. With its amazing gameplay experience and atmosphere, not to mention the Omaha beach opening level. Now we are playing the new game entitled "rising sun". The game is set on the 7 th of December the day of the Japanese assault on pearl Harbour. As soon as the game starts you are brought to a cut scene where you will see you and your team-mates having a rest in a ship. You then hear a loud crash and the place begins to shake and leaving chaos all around. This is where you regain control of you player. Your main objective is to escape the sinking battle ship alive this is done by extinguishing fires in you path and getting to the main deck of the ship. Now you will need to mount an anti-aircraft gun to take out the Japanese aircrafts. This part of the game does impress me a lot, with the sound and the atmosphere been remarkable. Most of this game takes place in the jungles around Japan and you may find these jungle levels visually impressive with lush tropical settings and sound effects. The levels are quite long and they do offer save points in them to avoid too much frustration. This game may have great visually impressive features and atmosphere but when we look at gameplay, the flaws seem to showed them self's. For a start the game is a lot shorter with only nine levels, and those levels can be a bit linear like in frontline, and another let down is the A.I of both the enemies and your back up, they seem to run around and shoot at areas for no reason occasionally. Also the gun physics, such as recoil doesn't seem to occur in this game so the game doesnt feel quite as authentic as it should begam. It can be annoying when you shoot an enemy close up several times and have them still standing there as if they are built out of steel. So my verdict of this game is that it's basically a down graded medal of honour with nothing new really to offer, its a much shorter game with only a few hours of gameplay and its just nowhere near as authentic as Frontline.
Cover Artwork ~B~ Pretty good cover with multiple things happening on it.
