MOH: Designed for multiplayer gaming

User Rating: 6.5 | Medal of Honor PS3
This years Medal of Honor is designed mainly for multiplayer gameplay. Although it provides a single player campaign, as soon as you have completed it, theres nothing more to look forward to other than proceeding to multiplayer gaming. Customers who purchase the game will realise this and for those who do not have internet connectivity or cannot afford it, will not experience the multiplayer option.

The storyline also requires further work. Compared to Modern Warfare 3, MOH follows a similar plot. Players are thrown into a situation where the protagonist is ambushed by enemy soldiers, in this case the Taliban, and they shoot their way out of the conflict to complete the mission. However the story mainly is about escaping gunfire, climbing over a hill, or accomplishing a sabotage as a Delta Force operative. There are no thrilling moments and therefore lacks this element (or that those moments in the game don't feel thrilling at all). Even if another person would argue this point, the game developers fail to make the viewers realise this in the presentation of the game. Although the plot is simple, the story fails to grab or move the video game player, who now looks for more than challenging gamplay in this new millenium.

Although the graphics is crisper and clearer than any other videogame, its sound effects don't move you to say "WOW".

Also this game lacks goodies. Other video games throw in lots of gifts such as medals badges tabs and additional maps and weapons even vehicles and additional challenges and mini-games. MOH 2010 provides only a few weapons and maps and even if there are medals, they are not very noticable in that you would have to go to the medals folder in PS3 to view them (they are not even graphically outstanding and dont make you feel great about achieving them!). The medals look more outstanding in the multiplayer option and for this reason it is more of a multiplayer game. There ought to be a medals chest for the single player campaign and other challenges too. A suggestion for the next MOH would be to include the Medal of Honor itself as the top award for accomplishing a feat. What would the game be without the MOH? Other awards such as the Distinguished Service Medal or Purple Heart and Silver Star should be awarded too. Ribbons and pins such as the combat infantry badge, parachutist jump wings, etc., shouldnt be disallowed.
