Gamespot was very unfair when reviewing this game. A must own for PSP owners or those who want a good game.
Great character models and lighting. A ton of detail which distinguishes each level. Very creative looks and no noticeable graphical problems like slow downs.
Sound:
This game has by far the best voice acting and music out of any PSP game. Voices sound very authentic, with Thor sounding like a mighty warrior who likes to brag, and Dan having amumbled voice due to his lack of a jaw. Music fits the medieval feel and the holloween like environments. Some character voices are purely meant for fun, like Death's voice, which resembles the narrator from Monty Python and The Holy Grail.
Gameplay:
This game is simple, yet really addicting. You have two different buttons for attacking which each provide charge up attacks and regular attacks. You have a jump button and a charge button too. You collect multiple types of weapons which sometimes wear out depending on what type of weapon it is. Very simple controls which you have the choice between controlling the character with either the D-pad or the analog stick. The start button brings you to the menu, and the select button brings up the weapon selection screen.
Camera is in no way near as bad as what Gamespot made it seem. You can simply tap the R button and the camera will go behind Dan. It usually stays either behind him or to his side depending on where you are located. Very easy to use and always works.
This game has a ton of replay value also. Not only should this game take you a while to beat it through once, but the game has over 70 different mini-games ranging from hitting rats with a warhammer to a shooting gallery using a crossbow.
Value:
With a price tag of $40, this game is well worth your money. It comes with demos of the game itself and of Wipeout that you can play. You can also send these demos to your friends. Very high replayability and an all around fun game with great humor and awesome voice acting.
My tilt:
This is by far the best PSP game and the most underrated. It has lasted a long time, and never gets old. Great voice acting and the best music out of all the games so far. I recommend that anyone who has a PSP or just likes fun games get Medievil: Resurrection.
