This is where the Mega Man formula starts to show it's age...

I think that Mega Man 1, 2 and 3 were simply amazing, but Mega Man 4 is where things start to go a little wrong.

Story: The story starts out as household robots go haywire and attack the city. Mega Man, being the person he is, sets out to destroy the 8 robot masters and defeat Dr. Wily. This wouldn't be a problem if we hadn't heard it so many times... 8/10

Graphics: The graphics are the same as Mega Man 1, 2, and 3. The only difference now is that Mega Man will flash when he is charging his mega buster. The graphics also seem a little darker than the other Mega Man games. 8.5/10

Controls: The controls are the same as ever. A to jump, and B to fire your arm cannon. The only difference now is that you can hold B to charge your Mega Buster. 10/10

Difficulty: The game can actually be pretty challenging at some points, but once you figure out which robot masters are weak against what attack, the game becomes sort of easy. But you still need to stay on your toes. You actually won't be using most of your robot master attacks, due to the fact that your charged up mega buster can just plow through anything in it's path. 8.5/10

Overall, the game isn't the worst in the Mega Man franchise, but it starts to show it's age. During the levels, I actually hear a few off-key notes during the levels. Some call it a glitch, but they're too common to ignore. I don't think Capcom tried as hard to make this one as good as 2 or 3. It just feels... too similar. 8/10 By all means, it's not a BAD game. It just isn't as great as Mega Man 2 or 3.
