A true classic is back! Kept retro w/ some added challenges that'll hit u harder than a shot from the Mega Buster.
The game starts you off with the same basic story line of most Mega Man games: robots running amuck, Mega Man called to the rescue, who on earth could the villain possibly be? There's a slight twist to this edition as you find out your creator and friend, Doctor Light, seems to be the culprit for making these robots go wild. This is similar to the Dr. Cossack plot of Mega Man 4, and has just as much Wiley as that game, so there's no need to worry.
Besides the basic plot being familiar the game play is just as much so, and this is what makes this game so great. They truly kept it retro and fun! 8 bosses to kill all with unique characteristics, (although Magma Man and Plug Man and a bit too familiar) every time you kill a robot you get his or her powers to use to defeat the others. One extra that was a good idea was the Roll Store, where you can buy items to use to get through some of the tougher levels. This makes the game great for newbies who may need a little help with their first Mega Man experience.
All in all the game is just what it's meant to be. A classic title with new challenges and a couple twists to keep you smiling. I've rated it 9.0 because of these PROS and CONS:
The PROS: Classic retro feel in a challenging new title. Incredibly fun that brings that nostalgia back into your life. Challenge list to keep you playing again and again!
The CONS: No slide ability. Cannot Charge your Mega Buster. The Challenge "Mr. Perfect" where you have to beat the game w/o even getting hit, seems a little too insane, makes you not want to try the other ones.
