What's better than any of the old Mega Man games? How about all of them on one disc?
The basic game format is the same. You jump, you shoot, and you fight bosses one at a time, steal their powers, and use them to beat other bosses more easily so you can get to Dr. Wily for a final showdown. All of the things that made the Mega Man series so great are still in this collection. They've even kept the old password system. Making things a little easier though, the developers have added a save feature so that you can store your progress on the Gamecube memory card. This was a nice added feature that makes things a bit more convenient and don't take anything away from the original game as it is completely optional.
My only real complaint with this game which actually doesn't have so much to do with the game as it does with the Gamecube controller is that I found it very hard to fire at a fast speed as the button presses on a GC controller are stiffer than any other controller. This makes it hard b/c one of the things necessary in this game is the ability to jump and rapid fire in mid-air. It was much easier to do this with the original NES controller.
To anyone that used to love the Mega Man series...Pick this game up.
If you've never played the Mega Man series...You owe it to yourself to pick this game up.
