User Rating: 9.2 | Mega Man Anniversary Collection PS2
Out of all the releases that have come out over the past couple of years, none is as good as the Megaman Anniversary Collection! There is a total of 10 games and tons of extras! The Megaman Anniversary collection consist of the first 6 Megaman games that appeared on the NES console, Megaman 7, which appeared on the SNES console, and Megaman 8, which appeared on the Playstation. The collection also includes two arcade games that were never before released in the U.S. Each game is unique in its own way. Megaman 1 is the first game ever. Megaman 2 was the first to have that element that makes all Megaman games the same and interesting, 8 robot masters. Megaman 3 introduced Rush and Protoman to the series. Megaman 4 introduced another animal friend, Beat. Megaman 5 has Eddie. Megaman 6 gave you the ability to merge with Rush to make you all-powerful. Megaman 7 introduced three new characters to the series, Auto, Bass, and Treble. Finally, Megaman 8 made it possible for you to buy items that make you stronger. The game has an Auto save feature so you don’t have to worry about passwords anymore! Don’t worry; you can still put in passwords if you want to. The two fighting games allow you to fight your favorite robot masters using Megaman, Protoman, Bass, and/or Duo. What makes this collection so different from other releases is because of all the extras it has! As you beat all the Megaman games, you can unlock tons of extras that include original artwork, remix music, and only in the PS2 version, the first episode of the original Megaman TV series! The game also includes a feature called Navi Mode. When playing on Navi Mode, your friends from each game will help you along different stages. give you hints, and help you during boss battles. Not only that, it will replace some old tracks in some stages with their new remixed version! The gameplay of the game is the same with every other Megaman game, hard! That’s the best part about Megaman! They didn’t improve on the graphics but these are releases, not remakes! The sound in the game consists of a bunch of “beeps” since most of the games are old. However, with the remixed music, you won’t even notice! The value of this game is great since there are so many games to choose form and so many extras to unlock. Overall, this game is a must have fro both old school gamers and those how are new to the whole Megaman series.
