The best of Megaman
The Megaman Anniversary Collection offers the complete original series and a few minor extras, as well as two arcade games entitled "Megaman: The Power Battle" and its sequel of the same name. This version of the games emulate the originals very well. The button layout mimics that of the NES controller and the sound and graphics remain untouched. The games have aged gracefully in terms of gameplay and offers everything a old school gamer would want, from challenging platforming, to epic boss fights. However, the game does have its flaws. As you play through the game, you will notice that the graphics and gameplay do not change for several games, making the collection as a whole repetitive, due to the fact that major technical changes in the series do not occur until the sixth or seventh game. Also the two arcade games mentioned before are not executed well because of the fact that they give you an unlimited amount of lives making the game provide no challenge what so ever.
So in the end this game offers a lot for an affordable price. The game may seem repetitive, and the 2 arcade games included may not be the best, but overall, this game is an example of a compilation done right due to the sheer fun factor and quality of each game. If you are a megaman fan, or just a gamer who enjoys retro gaming, this game is definitely worth a buy.
