A great battle network game for the gamecube! Really cool and fun to play!
The story leaves of from the first game, when megaman defeated the WWW and saved the world! Now, a new threat has appeared, called the zero virus, that hacks navis and takes control of them, forcing them to do destructive things. It's up to Lan and Megaman to figure out the source and destroy it.
The gameplay is interesting, because along with using normal buster attacks, you can also use battlechips to attack. You start by jacking in to a location on the map. Once your in the net, Lan sends you battlechips to use against the various viruses throughout the areas. There are hundreds of chips that can be used, all with different attacks and abilities. The cool thing about this game is that unlike the first battle network game, you can use battlechips you have freely and more than once, sometimes up to 30 times! When you defeat an enemy, you can recieve a battlechip, life energy, or money. There are lots of data packets(large diamonds) that can be collected. Inside can be money, battlechips, hp upgrades, memory upgrades, or power-ups, depending on the color of the diamond. You can also find back-up chips that allow megaman to revive in case he dies. Once you make it to the end of an area, you battle a boss. You both have health bars, so you must delete the enemy before he destroys you.
The environments are very well done and look like an intricate cyberworld. While you can't free roam the normal world with Lan, you can still explore the net with megaman. The music can be really catchy and none of the music is boring. Graphics are good too, and all the characters look great in the game. Smooth gameplay make this a fun game to own. An added bonus is that you don't have to fight every battle. The enemies just appear as you go, but you can choose to take them on or not!
Overall, if your a megaman fan, this is a must-buy. While not for everyone, it's a great game that most people could enjoy. Cheers!
