The game plays nicely, but is it enough all these years later?
GAMEPLAY
Its a game we all played in the NES days. You run, jump, shoot, fight bosses, avoid spikes, shoot enemies, get killed, throw PSP at ground, etc. You get new items, collect extra stuff, make own stages, share online. There is a lot to do.
The stage editor is simplistic but powerful, it adds the needed gameplay to the game to keep it fresh.\
Classic and new styles really don't add much new, but challenges are crazy and will make you want to kill your PSP or the first person you see, luckily someone was around me so I still have a PSP.
GRAPHICS
Cute... anime... graphics. Okay, I hate this style of graphics... or I used to. Whatever. It didn't look bad while moving, but the screens of the game scared me. Once in game, the graphics were pretty good, there were no animated cut scenes, just rendered scenes with the in game engine. I didn't like the way MegaMan looked, but the rest of the stuff looked good.
SOUND
Never give MegaMan this voice actor again. It sucked. The game has decent music for the most part, but the MegaMan voice hurts my ears. Its not that its bad, it just doesn't fit him. I can't believe he would have that voice with the way he looks, and it ruined a large part of the sound experience for me. Luckily, everything else and the other voice actors sound fine. Remixed music is hit or miss, but the originals sound fine.
VALUE
The old game with new graphics, new version of old game with new graphics, challenge mode and level editor. Download others levels? Good value in my book.
TILT
Unlike MHX, this game doesn't have the same grab. It is enough to keep you playing for a long time, but it definitely gets stale much sooner than if it would have had that grab it just is missing.
OVERALL
Though it has some rough spots and some bright spots, the game only breaks a fraction of what it could have been. With better voice actors, and a more coherent story in the updated mode of the game, this game could have been much better.
