while not quite X3, a great follow up to a SNES classic!

I played Mega Man X and Mega Man X3, and loved them both. The weapons were sick, the gameplay tight, good music, great bosses. But for some reason, I had never gotten Mega Man X2 for SNES. Well, I recently downloaded it, and its a solid game absolutely worth playing. It plays like the other X games, but in this game, the key is the get all of Zero's parts, altho you don't get to be him like in X3, and you have to face him at the end if you don't get them, which is tough. The music is great in this game, Crystal Snail's theme being amongst the best, amongst the other great tunes in this game. The intro theme and intro level theme are tops too. The bosses can be a bit tricky, but with the right weapons and strategy, you'll beat them. The coolest move in the game is by far the flame you get at the end if you get all of the items and Zero's parts, where forward-down-fire will kill most in one blow, bosses in two, including virus sigma. All in all, great, but not as good as X, and certainly not X3. But this game is worth playing, so get it somehow, either thru VC if it comes out, or thru emulator.
