An awesome addition to the MMX series.
Gameplay: It's Mega Man X gameplay again, and it never gets old. You jump, you shoot, you dash and you wall kick, just like the other Mega Man X games. And the Dr. Light capsules are here too. For the first time ever, MMX4 lets you choose between two heroes trying to, well, save the world from Mavericks. One is X, who is capable of charge shots, getting weapons from bosses and finding Dr. Light capsules to enhance himself. The other is Zero, who is capable of 3-Hit combos, double jumps and using learned moves by inputting certain button commands. Once you pick your desired character, you are stuck with that character in the entire game. And just like all other Mega Man X platformers, after the opening stage, you select which bosses to take down in your desired order. The stages have Heart Tanks, Sub Tanks or Dr. Light capsules (when you're playing as X) hidden in certain places. When you beat four stages (any of them), you are forced to fight Colonel, and once you beat him, you go back to the stage select screen to fight four more Mavericks. When all of them are taken down, just like the Mega Man X games, you go to Sigma's fortress, with multiple stages. As much as I am a Mega Man X fan, the gameplay rocks.
Graphics: The graphics are really good for a 2D PlayStation game. The sprites look neat and the backgrounds are gorgeous.
Sound: The sound is also very good, but the minor tweak is X's voice, which sounds more like a girl than a man.
Value: Mega Man fans and action game fans will play it over and over again.
Tilt: Overall, Mega Man X4 is an awesome addition to the MMX series. The gameplay never gets old, the graphics are excellent and the sound is near-perfect. Another must-own for all Mega Man fans.
