Eight years later, this is still the best X game on the PS One or Two.

Mega Man X4 was the first X game on the Playstation. Was the transistion from the Super Nintendo to Playstation a good one? Yes it was and it still stands the tests of time today. The story of Mega Man X4 is just like all the other Mega Man X games. A mysterious figure (any X fan already know who it is) comes and stirs up trouble and you have to help save the world. But this time, you can choose to play as either X or Zero. While the level layouts are basically the same, there are some minor story differences. Personally, I like Zero's story better. The graphics are pretty good, nothing awesome, but above average. One of the best things about X4, is the anime cut scenes. Instead of reading text, you get to see a cool anime cut scene. Its a shame Capcom didnt do this again in any of the other X games after X4. The controls are pretty good too. However, just like every other Mega Man game, there are certain time where you just can't help but be hit. It's more of an annoyance than a problem. You would think that after a while, Capcom would just run out of ideas for bosses. This starts the downward spiral of X bosses. While some are cool, others like Split Mushroom, just make you wonder how stupid Capcom thinks Mega Man fans are. That a guy named Split Mushroom is something people will like. Overall, this game is the best X game around. You cant go wrong with it. Whether you are a die hard Mega Man fan, or just someone who likes old school 2-D games, you cannot go wrong with Mega Man X4.
