Mega Man X7 is an OK game for MM fans, but for everybody else, it's not nearly as good.
Gameplay: X7 is no different from the other MMX games. You can run, shoot, jump, dash, and wall kick. However, there is some differences that are actually hit-or-miss. Once you begin the game, you do not play as X. Instead, you play as Axl, a new prototype Reploid. This is a bit of a disappointment for some fans, because they can miss playing as X in the beginning. Axl is similar to X, but he does not have the charge shot ability, and he can hover by holding down the jump button. Since X is the star of the series, he can be played as by rescuing 64 Reploids throughout the stages. Plus, he makes the game a bit better, with his charge shot ability and finding armor parts. There is also a new 3D mode. Most of the time, the game switches from 2D to 3D, and from 3D to 2D. Sometimes 3D is pretty fun, but sometimes it's also frustrating. Not only that, but when playing as X and/or Axl, there is an auto target feature. It can be useful, because you can shoot the enemy easily. All in all, the gameplay is OK for MM fans, but not so great for non-fans.
Graphics: The graphics are MMX7's greatest pro. The cel-shaded graphics are decent, and the animations are great.
Sound: The sound is the ear grater in Mega Man X7. The sound effects are pretty good, the music is decent, but the voice acting is horrible. Zero sounds like poop talking, and Axl talks more like Mr. Hankey.
Value: I find to play this one less than the other MMX games.
Tilt: Overall, Mega Man X7 is an OK game for MM fans, but for everybody else, it's not nearly as good. For those who are looking for a great MM game, get one of the Original Mega Man games, or one of the first six MMX ones.
