Blast away, X!

When the Mega Man X franchise first jumped into the 3D realm on ps2, many fans (including myself) felt let down. Reason could be credited to X7's sub-par game play mechanics. So, when X8 was released, and was confirmed to be in full 3D as well, many were skeptical. Now, I found the game for about 5$ used, and I decided 'what the hell' I'll get it. I was pleasantly surprised at X8 being more side scrolling oriented, as I feel MMX was intended to be. The game generally felt more like the old school MMX games.

Gameplay: It was done right, for the most part. There were a few vehicle stages that I feel could have been improved, but nothing too horrible.

Graphics: The graphics are bright and colorful. I feel they capture the Mega Man essence pretty well.

Sound: It's your standard experience with sound for the most part. Nothing incredible to point out on this one.

Overall: MMX8 is a definite must-play for any die hard Mega Man fan. If you enjoy action games or side scrolling games, I would also recommend this to you. The difficulty can be pretty steep as you begin the game, but it presents itself as a nice challenge.
