I'll admit as time goes on and video game evolve we tend to be missing a lot of things one of them for me is the Turrican series and the run and gun genere which I don't see much these days. This game is the third sequel in the Turrican series, well theoretically but that's not imporatant Turrican to me is one of the best but most crimanally underated series ever.

It's true the run and gun concept isn't that new but it's everything done perfect (in my book anyway). Your a space marine that has to save a peaceful plannet from an evil milliary empire that uses machines to take over this world, and so you put on Robocop like cybornetic armor and kick some butt.

That's it, yeah the format is pritty familar (same can be argued with a lot of run and gun games). You have a varity of weapons, moves when needed like a barrel roll and setting mines up, obsticles and enimies to go with it. But what sets this series about is the graphic level design which is great even the enimies, bosses (which can be intimidating looking like one boss is a super sized ED-209) and your character is just as well designed.

The lengthy levels, the length of the levels makes the difficulty of this game at the hard level it is not to mention the fact that it raises the stakes on your survival rate so this game is not for beginners. Some people might complain about this asspect of the game and it's true it's a bit unforgiving sometimes but what I say to them is tough, I've grew up playing games that are just as hard as this game, to win I had to practice a lot and it always paid off which is the reason it's a lot of fun for me, just like in real life when you play a sport or hone a skill. All I can say to people that can't haddle the difficulty of this game is the old saying, you can't stand the heat you better stay out of the kicten meanwhile advanced and vertern gamers like myself are in for a treat.

This game is litterally a test of endurance and survival that can be downright exausting but fun all the same. One of my favorate levels is the third which is the Junk Yard level, what makes that level the most instersting for me because it has the most mini bosses I've ever seen in a game ever, it sort of breaks that cleche of have just one all the time in this level you have about up ot 5 or 6. Wow, but don't fret they can be beaten easily like any boss when you know the pattern they can be dropped as easily as dominos just make sure you survive long enough.

But also there is some level exploration, because it does take a while to find the exit in the level the game as well as uncover a few items along the way if possible the levels are a bit of a maze. So this is a game where you have to take a bit of your time but don't take too much time, even though you have lots of time on the ticking clock it runs out faster than you think so don't get cocky.

The last best thing about the game is the music which is great, I'm a little sad that there aren't an remixed soundtrack of this series, because if they want some new matrial this series is the place to look. I also would love another sequel to this game or even a modern revival to this franchise I don't see why it can't be done.

Mega Turrican is mega fun.
