A successful attempt at remaking the Vietnam war the way it was. Violent, difficult, and with a whole lot of cursing.

If you've played MOH AA then you are already familiar with the developer 2015, and with it's many MOH expansions, this company is no pushover. However, if you've played the console COD: Finest Hour, then i'm sure that your aware that any company can make unexpected flops in a video game. Men of Valor, however, with it's intense firefights and interesting drama, isn't a product of the developer's bad side. Eventhough MOV isn't the greatest Console FPS ever made, it sure can hold its own against its competitors. Gameplay: MOV's controls are similiar to those of COD's, in the sense that you can lean to avoid exposing yourself to enemy fire. You move at a fairly decent rate, and weapon selection is pretty quick. One complaint however are the melee attacks. You have to press the black button, and it puts you vulnerable since it is so fire away from your primary controls. If it were done like in Halo, were you press B to melee, it would've been a lot better. Another drag is the A.I. Sure, you have Squadmates, but they are nowhere near as useful as your comrades in the P.C. COD. Eventhough in the P.C. COD I'm glad there are no squad controls, here its vice versa. Your squadmates need major help in getting out of crossfire. Well, I guess it doesn't matter, since none of your squadmates ever die, except in stories, were it is scripted. Unrealistic? Definitly. The enemy A.I. is just as bad, with little to no battlefield tactics. Example, run up, get shot, stay, get shot until killed. Well, I guess I shouldn't complain so much, since you do have really, and I mean really, intense as hell battles. Also, another good point is the way the missions are organized, one after the other, which means, no being extracted into another city or such nonsense. You fight each and every day. Graphics: MOV's are above average, dense foliage, scraped weapons, and decent character models. The cutscenes are simply ugly, however. No emotion or time were put into these. Worse part, you cant skip them. What I really enjoyed about MOV was the way the environments worked to your advantage. For instance, In a battle, there are sure to be fixed Machine guns, and good places to hide. The levels, are simply amazing, citites, basecamps, forests, and even farming fields are some of the places were you will engage the enemy. Sound: In my opinion, MOV's greatest strength, your comrades will shout, your weapons will fire realisticly, amd the music and tone fits just right. Voice acting is also well done, with a good way to do it also. For instance, after each mission, D.Shepard writes a letter to his family, and it sounds brilliant. Wartime chatter is also amazing. This is incredibly innovative, it is a feature which has everyone screaming and panicking in combat, you have to hear it to understand how amazing it is. MOV's sound recieves an A+ definitly. In the end, MOV ends up being an above average FPS that doesn't dissapoint, if your a fan of WWII shooters or just FPS's period, then I recommend you purchase this game to your Xbox videogame library.
