While some parts are fun, others just feel sloppy and unfinished. But critics under-rated it too much.
User Rating: 6 | Mercenaries 2: World in Flames PS2
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames for the Playstation 2 is the explosive new sequel to Lucasarts/Pandemic's Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. The game centers on your character, which is a mercenary that is determined for revenge after a contractor doesn't pay him and shoots you in the captains quarters. There are three mercenaries to pick from: Mattias Nillson, Jenifer Mui, and Chris Jacobs. Although their looks have changed a great deal than in the first one, their personalities are the same. While Mattias likes explosions, fire, and enemies being blown up, Mui likes money, stealth, and sniper rifles. Chris Jacobs is the more "tactical" mercenary, he is pretty brutal when he needs to be. You don't want to see him without his cigar, either. The game features many airstrikes to choose from, vehicles, and weapons to choose from, and there are also many missions to do. There are also side-missions, where you can buy A.P.C's, Jeeps, helicopters, and airstrikes ranging from Carpet Bombs, Fuel-Air Bombs, and Blu-6 "Goss Cutters."
The graphics aren't as great as the first one, but they are good in some ways. The physics are also good, but like I said in the first game review, people fall only three ways: Forward on their face, on their back, or flip-over.
Well, I hope you all find this review helpful!
