Not to mention one of the best games for the XBOX platform...and that is including HALO 2 (although they are very different games). I've played the GTA series and I've never really been impressed with them. Don't get me wrong they are beautiful to look out, and they have incredible levels that are just huge...but something was always missing. That is the controls. Driving was always pretty easy, but when it came to interacting with the character things just weren't smooth...plus going around through the city always got boring and eventually I would end up being bored. But now Mercenaries has filled the gap that GTA left me. First: The levels are gorgeous, and explosions are amazing to look out. Definately THE best looking game on the XBox. Second: The controls are very easy, and they don't take very long to get the hang of. They pretty much handle like a typical FPS, which often isn't the case with third person games. Third: Every action has a reaction. What I mean by this is the different countries you can accept contracts from, but they do come with a price. You can be great friends with the Russian mob, but you have to realize that you are going to tick the Chinese off in the process. So you have to think about every contract you accept, and see if it will be best in the end. Fourth: It's amazing how big the level is, and yet there is no load times while driving around. Fifth: The game itself is huge. It definately is a game worth buying b/c it will take some time to beat...that is if you are like me and want to complete every little part of the mission that they throw at you. I think it's more fun to go in depth like that, but don't get me wrong it's also a blast to just go around and blow things up. Sixth: Last and not least, this game is just a blast. I like the war theme better then driving around a city. But I definately would recommend this game to anybody. Atleast give it a chance, but I know everybody has their own styles of gaming so I won't try to force it upon any of you. GREAT GAME!!
