Mercenaries is one if the most fun games that I've played in a long time. It's very different than what I've been playing lately. It is most strikingly like Grand Theft Auto. Except that it's military. Sounds like an obvious point, but I don't have nearly as much trouble killing people just because in a game like this. The graphics are pretty good. About middle of the road lately. One thing did bother me though, I really don't like the fact that there is so much fog/smoke. I understand the graphical reasons for it, but it is not like there would be that much smoke on the battlefield unless there was a huge battle underway. The sound is pretty unremarkable. That said, it does nothing to take away from the game, so I think that it suits it well. Gameplay is a lot of fun. However, the vehicles are not that easy to control. I don't like that. In fact, I try to avoid the helicopters at all costs. They are of very little use so far. It's not fun. The idea of the game and the deck of 52 (although definitely "borrowed" from somewhere else), is a lot of fun.. I like attempting to subue the guys.....but I'll kill them if I have to. Buy it. Lots of fun.
