Sometimes you just need to blow stuff up. Mercenaries offers GTA syle gameplay, allowing you to hijack tanks, trucks, cars,etc. The game does a great job of immersing you in a war torn enviorment. There are five factions; North Korea, South Korea, China, Allies, and the Russian mafia. North korea is always hostile, but you can do jobs for any other of the four factions. At first, they are all against north korea, but they start to do things against each other, and you'll have to balance your relationships with them. shooting a soldier will make the faction dislike you, or turn hostile, so you can't just run around shooting every person in sight. The voice acting is great. there is the sweedish merc, Mattias Nilson, The british Jennifer Mui, and Chris Jacobs from the U.S. All of the mercs have special traits and speak a different second language, which makes gamplay different with whatever one you choose. The Missions get old after awile, but it takes a long time to get tired of the freedom and destrution of Mercenaries.
