Metal Combat is digging its hooks into me.

I started playing the "fight now" modes and was running through the fighters expecting robot style characters, but there are tire fighters with limbs made of goodyears, some electric fighters, a few car and truck based fighters, and more that I havent unlocked yet. The fighters come in a wide range of sizes, types, and moves, so we are having fun playing both matched and mismatched fights. Beating Hank Hazard (a large barrel fighter) with a small skeleton fighter was satisfying to say the least.

After getting the feel for the fighting and picking 'my' character and learning his moves, I restarted and played the big game mode "escape muldunes salvage" the first mode on the list. Im now hooked on Metal Combat. Its not just a fighting game, Its a massive action adventure. I have been playing with my 1st character fo about 17 hours and I have unlocked a bunch of characters. I checked and unlocked fighters work in both fight now and escape modes. The physics based fighting is a cool new twist. I love jumping on a pushed around bus or truck and doing a big dive move on my enemy to watch the crashing physics do the damage. I made it to an area in the junkyard with alot of steel beams and some building shell structures, and the way that they break when you fight around them is awesome. You can go up to a building shell and smash it to pieces and the pieces fall with physics and hit you and your opponents doing damage to everything. Plus the beams break and pile up and dont disappear. You can even partially destroy a beam structure and it tips and falls with the physics allowing you to climb on the debris. This is so awesome you gotta play it to feel how cool it is. I had just finished hitman bloodmoney and I was blown away at how Metal Combat was so live. IF you try to move a car door in hitman, its as rigid as a photo. In Metal Combat it feels like you can move and touch everything.

The music is great, there are tons of fighters, the graphics are better than WOW, and the way things break in Metal Combat is very slick.

BUT on my dell laptop it runs slow. On my game rig it blazes. The basic keyboard controls are alright, youll want to bust out the game pad.

This game is a total surprise for me. I give it a 10/10. I did not expect it to be such a deep or addicting game.
