Good... If you've got a lot of patience and can overlook some low points.
Another thing you should know is that Metal Dungeon is not a traditional dungeon crawling hack n' slash like Champions and Baldur's Gate. Outside of combat it appears somewhat that way, but inside of combat it is like a real-time Japanese RPG combat system. Turn-based, but it doesn't wait for you to change unit assignments, combat never pauses. You can reassign a character to do something else, but the game doesn't wait for you to do so.
Something I thought was pretty sweet was the ability to completely customize your characters. You can change their height, weight, gender, face, costume color, etc. Pretty good customization, especially considering how dated the game is.
The Good
*Unique combat system
*Excellent character maker
*Fun to train characters
The Bad
*I would have preferred a Champions styled hack n' slash. Points for being unique, though.
The Just Plain Ugly
*It's relentlessly tedious to battle the same enemies, in the same battle room, with the same moves, over and over, and over again.
Graphics: Pretty good (7/10)
Gameplay: (5/10)
Sound: Not bad, not great (7/10)
Story: Unique story... not too well-thought out, though. (6.5/10)
Re-playability: (6/10)
Overall: Metal Dungeon can be a nice break from the pace, but don't expect it to be amazing. (6.3/10)
