MGA 2 is a fun strategic card-battling game that improves on the original and is recommendable to all.
THE BAD: Confusing plot. Lack of online multiplayer. No full voice dialogue.
Metal Gear Acid 2 is an improvement to the original in almost every way.
GAMEPLAY is similar to its predecessor (which means Snake moves and executes moves via cards in a strategic RPG fashion), except the game controls much smoother. There are also a lot more cards to use and now the cards are upgradable. What's more, the game begins with a very good tutorial so the learning curve isn't bad for anyone who hasn't played the first.
GRAPHICS are great. The backgrounds and environment are 3-D and look just shy of Metal Gear Solid 2. The character models, however, are now cel-shaded and are full of color.
SOUND is very Metal Gear. All the sound effects and music from previous Metal Gear games are intact and it sounds fantastic. The only thing missing is voice dialogue during cut scenes, but the characters do make groans and say a few lines during battles.
VALUE is pretty good. The game takes about 18-24 hours to complete the first time give or take a few hours playing some Arena Mode and taking time to get better cards. After beating the game Extreme Mode is unlocked and each level can be replayed with different objectives to earn more points. So, the game allows for multiple replays, but it isn't something most casual players will do.
OVERALL Metal Gear Acid 2 is a fun strategic card battling game that fans of the original will enjoy. But, it is also a game that newcomers can get into which makes it recommendable to all. It's worth buying, but renting is probably a better choice.
