Great game with superb storyline and possibilities. Great for playing by yourself, or with a buddy, I would reccomend!!
For the first thing, I'd like to say that at first the graphics didn't quite appeal to me. I thought Kojima Productions was going all the wrong way with it, and I was really displeased. But then as I began playing it, I felt the same gameplay that I had loved from the first game had still been there, and I didn't notice the graphics so much.
The gameplay is a bit tweaked now so that you can get things like Surprise Shots. This gives you a bit more feeling towards the game, and I really liked possibly not having to waste extra shots. I also liked in the game a new feature to upgrade your cards. It costs just a little bit, possibly 500-5,000 pts to upgrade your cards for extra benefits. Some of the benefits are lower cost, extra damage, extra shots, better hit %, or a mixture of these.
The music in the game was very good. It really was able to set the tone for the game telling you that even though this game had its fun quirks, it still was a very serious title with a great storyline.
Over the course of playing the game, you can get over 500 cards, I have nearly played the game twice, but still have only a little over half. Sometimes I just will buy packs of cards in the card shop that whole day, and I'll never actually play the Missions. Or sometimes I'll just play a new Arena mode they put in where you can fight almost any MGS boss from Liquid to Ocelot or from Fortune to Boss.
I also really enjoy a multiplayer mode in MGA2 that you got to fight each other's character, or try to break the other persons orbs. You can't share cards with the other person unfortuneately, but you can show off your cards to anyone who dares mess with you.
I definitely would reccomend this game to anyone with a PSP and wants a quality game with a great storyline, graphics, and gameplay. Any Metal Gear Fan should love this game even if they didn't enjoy the first. If you don't feel like paying $40 for this game, go to Blockbuster or Gamefly and rent it. You can beat the actual story in it, and still get a totally awesome experience out of it. On a scale of games that have actually done truly revolutionary-ish type things, this game would be high on my list.
