Somewhat short story, but will keep you coming back to play more.

Well, to but it bluntly, this game is a tremendous improvement on the original. It looks like they really went through their first game, and improved/tweaked everything that did not work out/was just frustrating, and they also added plenty of new content. For instance, they added many, many more cards that the player can use. Also, one of the most frustrating things, in my opinion, from the original, was that you had to stop in place, then let the door open, then use another rest to go through the door. That annoyed be to no end. So, I was abundantly overjoyed when I saw that that problem was fixed!!! Also, after completing maps, in the first one, you could go back and play either elimination, or sneaking, whatever the game decided. However, in this edition, you could not only choose what it was, but also they added "trial" and "special" missions. Trials give you a certain goal, and certain cards to achieve that goal with. This goal can range from killing enemies without being spotted, to reach a point within a certain COST, and these little puzzles add another dimension of challenge to the game. The special missions are like the trials, except that you pick your deck for these missions, a great idea, but a little too tedious for my tastes. Another thing they added which was brilliant, in my opinion, is that now you can upgrade your cards. Upgrading your cards depends on the card. A weapon card, for example, could have an added cost, but its power and accuracy may go up, and it may have an added bonus like bleeding. However, this game does have its shortcomings. At some points in the game, like when there are explosions on screen, you can almost feel the framerate move to a crawl. Also, some of the textures in the game are not too great quality. Also, the storyline is rather short, playing only the story line would take about 12 hours to complete, but to amend this, the games other missions will make you want to play the same missions over and over again, and with the trials for example, they will keep you coming back to just complete them! One other feature they added was, the Solid Eye, and all of its theaters. Now, don't get me wrong, I think that concept was a great idea... it's just that the apparatus is not exactly the greatest. Personally, I wouldn't want to be walking around with a little black box on my PSP to watch little clips from MGS3 and Japanese women in 3d on my PSP. So, I don't think you'll find yourself using the Solid Eye too much. Overall, I say you should definately pick up the first one before you consider playing this game... the game does have some references to the first game which may leave the player a little alienated. But, don't overlook this series, it is truly great and will give you a very good run for your money.
