The cell shaded Ac!d

User Rating: 9.4 | Metal Gear Acid 2 PSP
Metal Gear Ac!d 2 is one of the best games I've played for the PSP. It's amazing graphics pulls you into the game and just won't let you out! The gameplay improved a lot from MGA1. This time there's no cursor but you still have the grid. When you pick a card, rather than using a cursor to move Snake and Venus, you can move them freely across the grid. Now the percentage of controlling Snake and Venus went from a 10% to an 80%. I have to say this gameplay is better than the first Ac!d's gameplay by a long shot. The sounds and music are similar to Ac!d 1's sound and music, except for some changes. It's a big part of Ac!d. To me, the music is a way different style than that of the solids. The value is worth the buy. Even if you dont like card based strategy games, this one will keep you hooked.
You have a choice of story mode and area mode. The story mode obviously takes you to the main game and the arena mode is where you can battle bosses from the previous Metal Gear Solid games. There are two bosses per battle and there are two bosses from each MGS game. Ocelot and Liquid Snake from MGS1, Fortune and Vamp from MGS2 and The End and The Boss from MGS3. There is also Teliko from Metal Gear Ac!d 1 and an alternate form of Venus. You also gain some new cards from beating these bosses in arena mode. There are 500 cards to collect. The Solid Eye comes with the Metal Gear Ac!d 2 package but it's overrated. Sure you slip it onto the PSP and you can see everything in 3D, but it can only be used for a short time. You eyes will start to feel weird and start to hurt after 5 minutes. Overall this game is a neat little package with all of your MGS goodies inside. It's definitely worth the buy!
