This is proof that you don't need a touchscreen to be original. It has it's flaws, but it's still superb.
This game has a lot of features. It takes time to learn it all. But the good thing is that the creators made great tutorials that doesn't take everything at once. You have to try out most special cards yourself to figure out exactly how they work.
The story is great and sometimes truly amusing if you think about it. But I found it to be a little short; I had not gotten to try out all of my cards before I completed the game for the first time. I missed some (replay) value, but fortunately there is multiplayer.
The sound is there, but it isn't the too spectacular. There is no voices, but I have absolutely no problem with this. No voice acting is better than bad voice acting. The music is cool, but the full alert music can get a bit annoying after playing for a few hours(partially because you won't want the alert to go off!) The sound effects are all that one can expect but nothing more. Some sounds are pretty awesome though, like the Metal Gear walking sounds.
The graphics are just right for the style - fairly dark. As you might expect from a turn based game, the world is technically built up by blocks. So the environment is usually rather simple, but occasionally there are some nice scenes, like the drawbridge. The character models were really complex though. And the animation was very nice.
Sometimes the game is a bit...slow though, when the enemies make their move. There is a quick mode, making things animate faster, but it isn't that much quicker. The framerate is also a bit too low quite often when many enemies are on the screen, there are lots of particles, etc. They could sacrifice some graphics for framerate.
The strong point is definately the gameplay.
Although this is a superb game, a few things could be even better. But from what I've seen, they seem to be adding exactly what I missed in Ac!d 2!
