A fun translation of Metal Gear to a card game

User Rating: 8.6 | Metal Gear Acid PSP
When I first saw the game, I like many other hard core Metal Gear fans thought this would be a disgrace to the Metal Gear series. After playing it myself, I was surprised at how good the game turned out to be.

Game-play
This was possibly the most disappointing part of the game. It was too slow when there were many enemies on the screen, too tedious when you had only a little health left, and it took me over an hour just to beat the final boss. Overall, it was a successful translation of stealth to card and turn based game-play, but hopefully before Acid 2 comes out, they'll work out the kinks.

Graphics
This is my first PSP game, so I only have my DS to compare graphics with.

The graphics blew me away. I loved the lighting effects during a certain mission I don't want to spoil for others. All the models were detailed, more so than I could of imagined. Yes, there were slowdowns, but since this is a turn based game, it really didn't spoil anything for me, if this were a real time game though, the slow downs could of ruined everything.

Sound

The sound was pretty good. Contained lots of sounds for shooting and selecting items ect. The only thing that would of helped would have been voice acting, but on a hand held, thats a lot to expect.

Value

Its a very long game I think. It took me around 20 hours to complete, compared to any other MG game thats almost twice as long. Though this is due to tedious game-play, it still is a long game.

Tilt

The Tilt comprises of one main thing. The story

The story is what kept me motivated to play the game. The story though confusing, once you beat it one time through, it makes sense in the end. The total sense of confusion during parts of the story, wondering who the actual villain is, its all awesome. The story is a bit confusing and drawn out at times during the end, so I gave it a 9.

Overall I think it is a great game. I do not recommend this to non-Metal Gear fans, and people who hate turn based games, though if your a Metal Gear fan in any form, you should be able to turn a blind eye to the issues and enjoy Metal Gear Acid
