This was one of those games that sends tingles down your spine. I just picked this up only 2 weeks ago because the 3rd had just come out. I had played and beat the first and wasn’t totally interested in ever getting the second. And never even considered the 3rd, until now. I put in this game expecting it to be fun, and be an ok game. Then I watched the opening and my jaw hit the floor. The music was fantastic, visuals were better than most Hollywood films, and the sheer energy was more than watching a James bond film. This game has the most involving and interesting story of any videogame I’ve ever played. I cared about the characters, which is hard to do in a videogame. The graphics are not the best of its time (see silent hill 2 for better) but it deserves a 10 because of its amazing use of them. The dynamic camera angles the sense of speed in action scenes and the sense of intensity in the more emotional scenes. Sound. AMAZING. The best of any videogame I’ve ever heard. In my mind it deserves an 11, but unfortunately a 10 is the highest. The sound makes every scene have a feeling. Every scene was portrayed perfectly through the sound. Amazing job. My only compliant is some voice acting that is sometimes a little over the top. Value, I hesitate to even give it an 8 because though this game is amazing it really has very little replay value. This game will blow you away for about 15 -20 hours and for those hours, it’s a masterpiece, but you wont pull it out much unless to show off the action sequences to your friends... Game play is very good and the controls are well done even though they take some time to get used to (circle is the action button instead of the normal x). This game has an amazing story and is definitely worth it. I suggest thought that you play the first one because of the frequent references to it. Overall this is a great game, the best action game I've played in a while and WELL worth whatever it costs now (got it used for $4!!) so pick it up and give it a try, you wont regret it.
