Absolutely Brilliant in every way!!!
Game Play: The game offers a variety of choices such as hiding bodies, in lockers,swimming,hiding IN lockers, defusing bombs, unique boss battles, i could go on. The main aspect of this game is the stealth and is astonishing in every way. The only surprise that i knew of,thankfully was the Raiden surprise. Which didn't come as much of a surprise. The game has two chapters. A tanker chapter, which takes place in a Ship. And a plant, which takes place in a Strut named sectioned place called the big shell. On the tanker plant,as some of you know, you play as Solid Snake,no doubt, he is a badass.When you come to the plant chapter you're supposed to think that you play as Snake again but play as a new character called Raiden.
Story: The story is one of the Emmy winning performances of the MGS series and the long cut scenes never cease to amaze me. The story has all kinds of plots, and twists that you will rather watch the cut scenes then spend 10 dollars on most of the movies at the theatres. The voice acting is kind of cartoonish but that makes up for a great well-balanced story with great casting and dramatic moments.
Graphics: The graphics, are stunning for its time. It was probably the best i have seen on the start of the ps2. You'll notice little details such as footprints coming off as you bleed. Enemies being able to see your shadow. To AMAZING lighting and and textures. As i said you will see better graphics nowadays but not for its time and i think that MGS2 deserves its respect for that.
Replay Value: The game is so superb that once it ends it will leave you for more and you cannot help but play it again on a higher difficulty. As you progress you will notice that you get these necklaces soldiers wear called "DogTags". They wear it so if they are fallen in battle they can be identified, however if you collect a desirable number of dogtags you will get rewards which takes the replay value at a HIGH standard
Conclusion: Metal gear solid is a great series and i never will be let down by a metal gear solid game. So that leaves it to this. You HAVE to play it. Not only because it is for the story, but because it is a very fun great written game and Hideo Kojima deserves his respect
