Wow. I don't know how else to describe the MGS2 experience but with that word. Wow. I mean, when I first started playing the game, I had no idea what to expect. Initially, I didn't see the potential the game had at first just because I had just come from MGS3: Snake Eater and nothing about MGS2 at first outshone anything from Snake Eater. So yeah, the first few hours of the game were, to say the least, a slightly unpleasurable experience. I had no idea where the story was going at all! But yeah, it didn't take long for the plot to pick up and it just kept on going up from there. And by the time I reached the conclusion, I was stunned. It's amazing how Hideo Kojima does it. It baffles me really... I mean, what kinda genius would think of incorporating all that he did into one PS2 title? All the storylines blending in this mystic backdrop questioning the very principles, we, the human race, stand on. So many burning questions, perhaps the most burning of them all being "what the heck does Otacon mean when he says at the very end of the game that all of the 12 Patriots are dead????" But yeah, if you haven't played this game yet, go ahead and give it a go
Emotionally, MGS3 takes the cake for best story (one of the saddest games I ever played). But as for the more complex story, I'm pretty sure that anyone whose played both games would have to go w/ MGS2. Now all that's left is for me to tackle MGS4, though I still have yet to get my hands on a PS3....
