This re-release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty makes an already great game even better!

User Rating: 9.3 | Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (w/The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2) PS2
The Good:
Amazing sound effects and soundtrack, Pretty graphics, Unbelievable great story with a lot of nice twists, A lot of cool extras

The Bad:
You wont really miss out anything big by not buying this game instead of the original

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is out, and adds a lot of extras to one of the best ps2 games of all time. The main game is pretty much as it used to be, but all the extras makes it a must have for every big mgs fans.

The gameplay is very good indeed. In the main game, You sneak around as Raiden, trying to locate the president and some hostages. To help you reach your objective, you start off with a tranquilizer gun, and later on, you get many more items and weapons to advance in the game. Raiden can do all sorts of acrobatic moves, that can often save you from being spotted.

Graphics are realy great! Better than the average ps2 game. The graphics realy gives the game a lot of life. Mgs fans will not be disappointed!

Voice acting it spot on... realy great work from David Hayter (Snake) and all the other great characters. The soundtrack is, still, one of my favorite soundtracks from a game to date! Yes folks, it's that good! They took the soundtrack from mgs1, and gave it a makeover, and the result is amazing!

After you beat the game, you would realy want to check out the extras (especially if you got the version with the 'the documents of mgs2' disc).
You will sit back relaxed, maybe watch the making of mgs2, browse through interactive characters and places in the game, listen to some music from the game, and so on. You might not play the game again right after you're done with it, but believe me, someday, you'll want to pick it up, play it, and still be amazed about how great this game realy is.

As you can see, i realy like this game a lot, and it realy deserves all the nice words! If you're a fan of Tactical Action games with great graphics, amazing music and an unbelievable great, twisted story, you should definitely give this game a shot, and if you like it, give mgs1 and mgs3 a go.
