A hugely anticipated game that totally came through!

MGS2 DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! It's true. The previous games in the mgs series really rocked everyone's world, but this edition is best yet! This time, an amphibious Metal Gear is made, and, of course, stolen. The game starts on a tanker, where you have to try to stop the Metal Gear from being stolen, but you know it's not going to be over that quickly. The entire Tanker gets blown up along with all the oil in it. And a giant recovery set up gets installed to clean all the oil. This leads to that and Snake winds up on the station with a captive president and rumors of metal gear on board. MGS 2 has amazing visuals, they really blew us all away when we saw the early previews. Many of us got to play the game early by buying Zone of the Enders and getting the Japanese version of the Tanker along with it. Sure, JP got the FAMAS back in this game, but it's ok. Some of the environments in Sons of Liberty will truly take your breath away, especially some of the external plant environments. And the CGI cutscenes are like actual footage. As far as control goes, little has changed from the original MGS. This time, you get to control Raiden who's in the plant with Snake, and Raiden can do a flip, and Snake can do a roll, that's all that's changed. But, if you don't even know the controls of MGS, it can be a little difficult for a very short time, but you'll catch on quick. Unfortunately, there's no VR training this time, so it's straight to the field with Snake. Sons of Liberty (SOL, hehe) sounds very cool. Everything has a realistic sound effect, including the seaguls when you shoot them. The great thing is, just about everything is interactive, you can mess with almost everything you see (and you see a lot!). David Hayter is back in this version with his voice talent from God. And the rest are back with some newbs lending their voices. The voice of Raiden is alright, not poorly acted, but not nearly as great as Snake. Time-wise, you'll probably get 30 hours out of MGS2. There are several reasons to play through it more than once, and the first time through should last you a while. So, in the end, MGS 2 is a wonderful delite to play. Very addictive and immersive, realistic as well. If you want, pick up Substance, it's the same game with a couple little extras. Either way, you're looking at a very worthy buy here.
