Okay, if you have not learned about the Metal Gear series yet, what rock have you been hiding under? Kojima has done it once again: a game with seuperb graphics, excellent sounds, and overall, a heart-breaking story. Storywise, the year is 1964: the hottest part of the Cold War. The American Government sends in a single operative from the newly formed FOX Unit to the Russian Jungles. This man, codenamed "Naked Snake" (aka The Future Big Boss) is tasked with rescuing a scientist who has designed a nuclear-capable tank (not a Metal Gear this time, though). Like always, the plans go arwy, and one of the main characters defects to the Soviet Union (or so it seems...) The plot unfolds from there, as you meet unforgettable bosses, along with new allies. I will not spoil the ending, but I must warn you that it may bring a tear to your eye...) The graphics and sound are some of the best yet. It feels like the jungle in the game is actually alive around you. You hear birds flying, fruit hanging from trees (which you can eat), and other small innovations that really make this game. Basically, you need to buy this game. You don't have to know the story of the other games, but it is really neat to see why things in the future happened, as they are hinted and shown in this game.
