Not feeling this game as much as the others but still a Great addition to the series... *spoilers*

Well in this game your playing "Big Boss" which is really weird because it feels like your playing Solid Snake as they have the same face and voice acting and seems a little weird. I don't think clones would have the same voice would they? Also you hated Big Boss in the previous games but now you grow to like him as he acts just like Solid Snake. Also we actually havn't played Solid Snake properly since MGS as in MGS2 you played Raiden for 90% of it and in MGS3 you play as Big Boss, so i was a little disappointed here aswel, though i never had a problem with Raiden but in this game i just wanted to play solid. I'll finally get to play Solid again in MGS4 but he'll be all old and dying so..... looks like it's Twin Snakes for me if i want the solid Snake i know and love.

The problem with this game is it feels very dated and while when MGS2 came out it was all fresh and amazing, it hasn't really aged well. Little things from the guards being easy to run away from to the controls feeling abit clunky and not being able to walk in First Person mode all remind you that this really is 2001 gameplay in 2005. Theres a few new features added into the game like the need to eat for stamina and camouflage and doing first aid to yourself but it all feels rather tacked on, doesn't work very well and becomes annoying + not really needed. I think the creator was trying to put realism into the game while adding little mini games but it all ended up jsut a waste of time and annoying. I don't like going round looking for animals to kill and eat and i don't like having to fix myself up when thats what the health bar should be for really. Also the camo function just doesn't work very well and you never really need it nore does it work 100% of the time. Would have been better to add something like MGS4 where it does it all auto for you or not add it in at all.

I never really liked the story much and didn't catch me like the other two did. I'm not sure why this is but maybe because it felt alot shorter and like less time has been spent on it, rather like they did it in a few days rather than over a few years. Probably just made so you'll understand the ending of MGS4 though so maybe we'll respect it then. I didn't like playing Big boss like i said above and kinda wished it ended differently because it would have been nice to seem him and Eva having a deeper relationship than a one nighter and her turning out to be a completly different person.

I felt like this game had even less gameplay than the other titles which was quite weird and found myself constantly sitting there watching a cut scene for a few hours lol. I know the past games in the series were like this too but they had alot more gameplay it seemed than this one and i think MGS2 was longer than them both. The graphics are all very nice for the PS2 although i wish they released it on the PC because i can't stand all the jaggies lol. Theres a few framerate issues but nothing gamebreaking and nothing in gameplay, only sometimes in the cutscenes you see it go down abit like the last scene with Boss. The sound is perfect couldn't ask for better music and the sound effects are all great. The voice acting can get a little annoying as it seems really forced, specially on Snake but it always has lol. Anyways i can't fault the sound.....

So yeah MGS3 is a great addition to the series but again no multiplayer and no real innovation, the only changes they made were annoying ones that felt tacked on but didn't ruin the game. MGS3 is still a must have for fans of the series but not if you never liked them before and i loved playing every second of it. Only problem with MGS3 is it's just not as good as the other two (depending on if you didn't mind playing Raiden or not) and i didn't like the jungle setting. Also The Raiden jokes are becoming pretty old now and MGS4 doesn't look to stop taking the **** outta him and will probably even have solid snake killing him or something to make people happy, although i myself liked Raiden.
