Konami have really outdone themselves with this beauty no doubt about that! This is definitely one of the best games I've ever played and is my favorite in the entire MGS franchise. The best thing about the game is with no doubt, its story. The story is just so good and quite sophisticated. It is also extremely inventive, bravo Konami, absolutely brilliant! The gameplay is as good as it gets. I just love all of the detail put into the game! You can heal anything realistically, there's even cures for snake venom, awesome! One of my favorites is how you heal yourself. The stealth is just beyond belief. It is so awesome to be camoflaged in forested areas while crawling through grass in first-person mode and watching out for enemies. This time the game has online play, how cool is that?
Graphically, this game is just stunning. This definitely has some of the best graphics on the PS2! Amazing character models and animations, and when you're crawling through the grass, every bit of the grass goes down! The blood effects are wonderful and the environments are nicely done. The mud effects also look real when going through it. The sound is definitely one of the best parts of the game. The voice acting is some of the best I've ever heard and it makes you feel like you're watching a movie, and the sound effects are brilliant!
In all this is one hell of a game that shouldn't be missed by anyone. Metal Gear Solid fan or not, you'll love this game. I'd recommend buying it, it's totally worth it.
