Interesting, epic, and one of the best remakes out there.
Gameplay: The gameplay was intense and definitely unique as far as most games go. The mix of stealth and just plain action was incredible. There was basically a perfect mix of the two throughout the game. But even if you decided to play a more stealthy type of game, the option was there. The option to choose between the traditional over-head view or a new 3rd person view was there also, both of which placed an emphasis on either stealth gameplay or a more action based type of gameplay respectively. The gameplay mechanics of Metal Gear Solid were all there but most of them had a great deal more detail to them, such as survival and melee combat. The survival viewer was really interesting in my opinion. Here you could heal yourself from any sort of wound you can imagine, from arrow wounds to the head to simply burns. Also in this section you could eat many different animals, food, or plants to recover stamina and health. The ability to change your camouflage is in this survival viewer as well.
Graphics: They were quite good in fact. Since this is the first MGS game i have ever played (after this i played sons of liberty) i didnt know exactly what to expect from this section, granted a huge part of this game took place outdoors. All the backrounds were realistic and very detailed. Sll the character models were impressive too, especially during the cut scenes. Overall they were just very impressive.
Sound: The sound was another amazing aspect. The sound effects for literally everything i can remember were great, even the sound when you picked up a food ration or another similar item. The voice acting was superb as well, and it really helped make the cutscenes even more enjoyable. The actual sound effects were not really all that memorable, but the pieces of music definitely were especially the Metal Gear Solid 3 Theme by Cynthia Harrel, and the MGS theme song, which was one of the most epic songs i have ever heard. Value: Youll likely spend about 18-20 hours or so playing the game your first time through if you have never played the series before. For a more experience player the number will remain the same on the harder difficulties. This is not including the over 3 hours of incredible cutscenes in the game. After your done the main game there is also an online mode and a few others on the other disk that comes with this remake. I even came back to watch some of the cutscenes after i had completed the game.
This game is epic, and this should be in any action/adventure fan's collection, even if it is slightly different and the learning curve is a tad steep.
