wow! almost the best ps2 game ever!!

User Rating: 9.8 | Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater PS2
Never has a game been so fun and appealing to me in the sense of storyline, action, and as well graphics and overall performance. This game is a must have for anyone with a PS2.

The game has a little something for everyone not matter if you are into the shooters, the stealth style sims, the indepth emotional storylines, or even if you just like the sort of humor thrown Japanese games. The game really implies little bits of Japanese culture and humor in with an amazing story around the Cold War. From changing in and out of different clothes and camo, to pressing R1 to view certain hidden things from snake's view, this game is excellent.

Not matter how many times I keep playing it over and over I still get the same great sensation everytime. One thing that the game uses is slight humor to not always make you feel like the game is a simulator of some sort. It is actually far from that.

Although at times the shooting methods can seem a bit extensive, the game isn't meant to be a shooter until certain parts call for it, such as destroying the Shagohog- a secret tank-like missile launching land machine. What it is meant to do is prove past the many basic shooters like Resident Evil or Code of Honor and other games of the such and still remain one of the coolest original games. The series after all started with the style that we still see today of such; sneaking around performing missions and avoiding guards.

Snake this time finds himself facing his mentor, his non-biological Mother for say, his trainer, his partner, and possibly his lover at one time or another; The Boss. He believes she has betrayed her country and is helping Russia to control the world. However [SPOILER BELOW]

she was sent to carry out a mission to obtain the P. Legacy as a spy. However avoiding being uncovered she acts a if she betrayed her country and sides now with Russia. She oddly completes her mission of obtaining the Legacy. The Boss can't return to America because everyone but the government recognizes her as a war criminal and a women who betrayed her contry. However she was nothing at all like it, she was a Partiot who completed her mission and reached Snake through another spy of the Legacy from China, whos name is EVA. At the end The Boss tells Snake the story and gives him the Legacy and demands that Snake kills her. After you must press the [] button and do so, you finally leave the amazing battle ground. The area in which you fought The Boss is nothing like I've never seen. Where other games try to cut down on the emotional part of the game as to not to make it too emotional, MGS3:SE doesn't. It allows what emotion should show. The last scene is of Snake crying at the grave of The Boss, in which Snake just salutes. In basic both Snake and The Boss did America, their country, the best gifts they could give them. They both like true soilders completed their missions throughout.
