Despite major flaws, its still very good. And very addictive.

I never been too much of a fan of MGS. MGS 1 was great for the time it was created and i liked it, but when MGS 2 came out i was disapointed and bored.
Skipping to MGS 4 the biggest change you will notice, is that both stealth and combat is allowed and the controls and camera FINALLY make it easy to do both. No more tricky angles or reversed controls.
Avoiding bad guys is easy now since the camera is down with your character instead of bird eye view and you have no idea whats going on 5 feet away like in previous MGS games.
The biggest flaws with the game is the story and of course lengthy cutscenes. Get ready for 30 minutes worth of hearing how to cook eggs. And at times the game got really sad, dramatic, or tense only to be ruined by lengthy coversations and codec interuptions. One boss was dying and it was sad... but his last breath lasted 15 minutes. Just die already.
I also have issues with the story how the world economy is based on war, every soldier in the WORLD has nano machines in them. Weakest part of that is that somehow one company installed it to every soldier in the world and this one company controls the soldiers using an AI computer. That makes no sense. Here you go terroist let me install this nano machine in you so you can be stronger and we can control you. OK.
But beating the game, finally explains somethings, which put me at ease.
There is online gameplay too that is actually quite fun. You can level and there are skills that level as well, like some skills increase gernade distance, etc. Aiming is descent and health is descent, so you wont die to cheesy like in COD games. Plus if you get close enough you can put them in a choke hold.
Graphics are great and animation is amazing as well.
