Another great entry into the Metal Gear Solid series,that sets the bar for stealth action games on the PSP.
Visually,Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is an outstanding achievement for the PSP.The game looks absolutely gorgeous!The textures look great,and don't strain your eyes like some games.The frame rate is VERY solid,and I've never had a frame rate drop during intense game play.The game is most definitely top of the line.
As for the music in Peace Walker,just wow.The music is really good.It gives the game an epic tone,and makes the player feel like the game is bigger then they thought,which it is.As for the in-game sound effects,they really help the player get into the game.Sound effects like hearing Naked Snake slowly walk over leaves and dirt,hearing the crushing of the leaves,is great.Sound effects like that really make the game even more amazing.Overall,great presentation.
Now to the most important,and best part of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker,the game play!The game is a stealth action adventure game,basically you sneak around enemy guards,or can sometimes confront them with a variety of weaponry ranging from suppressed pistols and assault rifles,to machine-guns and sniper rifles.The game relies on the face buttons to move the camera and aim,the stick is used to move your character,L&R buttons are used for aiming in and shooting,and the D-Pad is used for changing your stance-accessing doors-and entering cover.The default controls work really well on the PSP,and resemble another great game in the same genre,Syphon Filter Dark Mirror.Throughput the game you also encounter various boss fights with versions of Metal Gear,attack helicopter,and even large battle tanks.Each boss fight is a treat and challenge all of its own.Besides the general game play,you also are given an entire mercenary army to run,assign staff members,and you can also recruit more members of your army through missions in the story or other side missions.This in itself feels almost like a full game plus the already amazing actual game play.The whole game is just to much to describe,it's that good!
