Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is an excellent game that anyone looking for a great plot and excellent gameplay should pick up. The amazingly cool cut scenes alone make the game worth the price. Storyline: The storyline goes as a group of terrorists from Fox Hound are demanding the DNA of the legendary solider Big Boss, if the DNA is not handed over they will use a top secret weapon to launch a nuclear warhead. As Solid Snake you are sent in alone to infiltrate the terrorist base, Shadow Moses in Alaska and stop the launch of the warhead. The story may not sound like much, but as you play it hooks you in making you want to find out whats going to happen. The plot features many different plot twists and it'll piss off to see....wait, I should stop there. Let me just say that the storyline is excellent, games need to have more plots written like this and executed like this. Gameplay: The gamplay basically requires you to sneak around the base and try to find out whats going on. The focus of the game is to stay away from gaurds a best as you can, but when the time comes you are armed to take them out. But you have to be careful, being spotted will set off an alarm and if you don't find a good hiding place you'll be caught in a big fire fight and your as good as dead. By no means can you run and gun in Metal Gear, you'll need to think for the right time to make a move and to hide where you can't be seen. The boss fights in the game is really where the action is, you be in fast acting fire fights, fighting tanks, sniping, etc. Graphics: Both the in game and cut scene graphics look excellent, everything looks the way that they should. The game isn't perfect though, it is running of the Metal Gear Solid 2 engine from PS2 (or at least modeled after it) so it has some jagged edges. Sound: The sound in Twin Snakes is excellent, even if you don't use Dolby Pro Logic II you'll be getting some great sound and sound effects from the game, everything sounding the way they should. Not to mention the voice acting is all top notch, many of the voice talents featured here were helped to become famous in voice acting by this game and have been featured in many other games and cartoons. Overall: Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is an all out fun game that features an excellent storyline and requires you to think; in my book that makes for a great game. Also there are two ways to finish the game, so you may want to replay it. And, in an indirect way, there is some really cool and odd innovation to be found here, especially in the fight with Psycho Mantis {~_^}.
