You can tell a classic when many years later, after all the technological improvements the game is still fun. From Space Invaders to Super Mario Bros. and Doom. some games can pass the test of time. Metal Gear Solid in its first installment (in 3D) is as fun now as when I first laid hands on it in 1998. Possibly even more fun, since the series started to get more complicated since. The graphics obviously, awesome in 1998 are way subpar compared to the latest stuff today, yet they still do the job. The story is the most coherent of all the Metal Gear Solid games, and the gameplay is the easiest to get into since the 2D originals that premiered in the NES for most of us (under that label Ultra, remember that guys over 35?). It's a great digital download for the PS3 and the PSP. If you can, try to find the VR Missions which were released separately in the US.
