No game has ever made such a great impression on me the way Metal gear solid did in 1998. In fact, the game still impresses me now. In my eyes it was the first game that was a real ‘experience’ to play. Not just the game play was great, but the overall feeling of the game just knocked me off my feet. I really felt like I was on Shadow Moses island myself. The only 2 games that came close to this sort of ‘gaming emotion’ were Ocarina of Time and more recently Resident evil 4. The graphics of the game were the best ever on playstation and the soundtrack and voice acting were both perfect. The only thing that stops metal gear solid from a perfect overall score is the lack of replay ability. Once obtained the stealth one could replay the game for the bandana, or vice versa, but that would be the end of it. The VR missions included in the game were short, and in Europe the bigger VR missions were sold separately. In the form of Metal gear solid Integral, the game would be a perfect. It’s a shame this version was never released in Europe… Releasing Integral even now, November 2005, would be a blessing!
