A classic that revolutionized video games.
The only problem, for me, was the camera, especially when aiming weapons. You often could not see what you were aiming at. This really didn't hurt the gameplay much though.
My favorite thing about this game, hands down, is the bosses. The members of Fox-Hound that you fight throughout the game are diverse and challenging. The battle with Psycho Mantis was simply amazing. At one point he "Reads your mind" by saying what you have on your memory card, which was pretty cool. The defeat of each villain is followed by a lengthy death scene which actually made me come to respect them and feel regret that they were passing. Sniper Wolf's death in particular.
In all, MGS is a classic game that any gamer can love. You can find it for less than $10 in many used game stores. BUY IT!!!
