OK, maybe my opening lines are a bit over the top considering that Splinter Cell is way more realistic than Metal Gear Solid, but where Splinter Cell excels in realism, Metal Gear Solid excels in fun. The game is very well put together with a story line that is cohesive and thorough. The gameplay is very well thought out, along with enemy AI. This is an impressive feat for the PSOne. Metal Gear Solid is definitely a keeper, not a rental. The voice acting and cinematics are well rendered. Hideo Kojima is a master and his mastery of his craft shows brilliantly in this game. The controls will take some getting used to, and I would suggest playing this game with a thorough walkthrough, that way you won't get lost. While the game is somewhat short, that shouldn't deter anyone from enjoying it. Get this game.
